Policy Forum Hosts Connected STEM Learning Briefing

On Tuesday, the STEM Education Policy Forum hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill entitled, “Connected STEM Learning: Transitioning to a New Vision of Delivering STEM Education.” In partnership with the Policy Forum, the event was co-sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association, the Afterschool Alliance, and the Association of Science-Technology Centers. Panelists for the event included Dennis Schatz of the ASTC and NSTA, Patti Curtis of the Museum of Science, Boston, and Ellie Mitchell of the Maryland Out-of-School-Time Network. The briefing focused on a vision of STEM learning opportunities as a network of charging stations in which children power up their learning by plugging into activities at school, after school, at science centers and libraries, as well as online.
