Policy Forum Hosts Connected STEM Learning Briefing

On Tuesday, the STEM Education Policy Forum hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill entitled, “Connected STEM Learning: Transitioning to a New Vision of Delivering STEM Education.” In partnership with the Policy Forum, the event was co-sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association, the Afterschool Alliance, and the Association of Science-Technology Centers. Panelists for the event included Dennis Schatz of the ASTC and NSTA, Patti Curtis of the Museum of Science, Boston, and Ellie Mitchell of the Maryland Out-of-School-Time Network. The briefing focused on a vision of STEM learning opportunities as a network of charging stations in which children power up their learning by plugging into activities at school, after school, at science centers and libraries, as well as online. Over 75 congressional staff members attended the briefing. View the slides from the briefing here and for information about future briefings, you can sign up for our email list here.
