Statement by STEM Education Coalition on Student Success Act

Statement on the House Republican Student Success Act:

“Our Coalition has worked for many years to advocate for the inclusion of student performance in science alongside math and reading as a required element of K-12 educational accountability systems.  We sincerely appreciate the Student Success Act’s reinstatement of the requirement that all states continue to test their students in science, which sends a powerful signal about the importance of science for student learning and school priorities.  We thank Chairman Kline and his staff for their work on this front and we pledge to continue to work with the members of the Education and Workforce Committee to ensure that STEM education is elevated as a national priority.”

Respectfully,
