STEM Education Coalition Statement on Senate’s American Innovation and Competitiveness Act

The STEM Education Coalition issued the following statement on the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee’s American Innovation and Competitiveness Act:

“We commend the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee for producing a bipartisan bill that recognizes policies to improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education are a critical aspect of an overall U.S. innovation strategy and are pleased to see the legislative process move forward.  As currently drafted, the bill would increase involvement by STEM stakeholders in federal agency decision-making, improve diversity in the STEM fields, and provide additional supports for STEM educators.  We look forward to working with the Senate to ensure that the bill that emerges from markup addresses the widest possible range of policies to improve STEM education.”
