McREL International joins the Coalition’s Leadership Council

November 27:  We are pleased to announce that Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning, otherwise known as McREL International, has joined the STEM Education Coalition’s Leadership Council.    Based in Denver, McREL is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan education research and development organization devoted to providing educators and leaders with research-based, practical guidance on the issues and challenges facing preK−16 education.    You can see several great examples of McREL’s research and initiatives in their 2012 Annual Report, which highlights education projects in several states and around the globe focused on transforming educational accountability and evaluation systems, improving equity and attainment, and a range of other challenges.  McREL is also highly engaged in the STEM education space, having done a great deal of work in recent years to support the implementation of the Common Core standards in math and to improve professional development programs in STEM subjects.   You can see some of their STEM work here.
