Coalition Statement on Senate CTE Reauthorization

James Brown, Executive Director of the STEM Education Coalition, said the following on the passage of S. 3217:

“We are pleased the Senate passed a reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act last night. While we appreciate the bipartisan nature of the bill and the commitment of the Senate HELP Committee to getting this legislation to the floor, we would’ve liked to see a final product with a heavier emphasis on vital STEM skills, which all students need to thrive in our 21st-century economy. ”
