The STEM Education Coalition issued the following statement on the FIRST Act, a bill introduced by the House Science, Space, and Technology Majority.  The bill would reauthorize major portions of the America COMPETES Act.

Earlier this week, Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ) announced that we will not be seeking re-election to his seat in the U. S. House this fall.

The STEM Education Coalition recently interviewed Rep. Richard Hanna (R-NY), who serves as the Co-Chair of the House STEM Education Caucus, a bipartisan group of more than 100 lawmakers that work together to insure House members are well-educated on STEM education issues. 

The STEM Education Coalition issued the following response to President Obama’s 2014 State of the Union Address:

This week, Congress passed a $1.1 Trillion Omnibus spending bill that will fund the federal government through the end of Fiscal Year 2014 and will addresses a number of key policy questions important to STEM education advocates. 

The STEM Education Coalition has released its 2013 Annual Report.

Our Coalition was proud to work with the Afterschool Alliance to rally more than 70 national, state, and local organizations in support of a broad-based agenda to advance Afterschool STEM education as a mean to improve student learning in these critical subjects.

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pension’s will soon meetto mark-up the Strengthening America’s Schools Act, a bill that wouldreauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act.  Our Coalitionissued a statement praising today’s action in the Committee to advanceeducation reform.
